Tours for Wednesday 19 August

In keeping with ISME tradition, no scientific session will be scheduled on Wednesday 19 August 2026. A number of tours have been selected offering you an opportunity to explore the Auckland area on your day off.

We have partnered up with AttendNZ, to provide you with an opportunity to see the city or to do something fun. Several exciting tours have been selected for you and your peers. Learn more about Auckland, sip some wine whilst soaking in the beautiful scenery, enjoy the views from Hobbiton, or explore the caves at Waitomo. There will be a tour desk in the ISME20 registration area at the NZICC, selling the available tours for Wednesday 19 August.

Tours during your stay in New Zealand

AttendNZ have now also additional tour options to Hobbiton™, Waitomo Caves, and Rotorua, including Te Puia, to be booked for any day during your stay in New Zealand. Operated separately from the tours previously advertised, these experiences provide another chance to discover some of New Zealand's most iconic attractions or a range of wine-focused experiences, now available on AttendNZ's Activities page . These experiences offer the perfect opportunity to discover Auckland's renowned wineries, local flavours, and hospitality before or after the Symposium.
